It's All Included - When you purchase a home with Great Lake Construction, all you need in the home is already included. No guesswork on option pricing, you get a completed home with everything you need at a great value.
How we do it?
We've developed a method of building that eliminates the uncertainty so you get value on time and on budget.
- Planned production - we start 2 homes every month, not more and not less. This allows our partners to have certainty knowing we have consistent work so we are prioritized.
- Beautiful Plans, we build over and over - so we get really good at it.
- Transparency - homeowners, partners and builder all get an online portal for access to real time schedules, so we are all on the same page.
- Relationships - We have treat our partners well, so they treat your home well.
- Inventory Homes - We build inventory homes on lots we control to provide quick occupancy in many cases
What We Are Not
- We are not a custom builder. If you are wanting to pay $2 million for a custom plan, that is not us.
- We are not a low quality builder. We provide great value and high quality homes with great partners and quality materials. If you want a very low priced home, that is not us.
- We are not huge and not small. We build 24 homes a year, not more and not less. You get production value, with a personal touch.
- We are not part time. We are professionals that build homes full time. If you want a "guy" that does 1 or 2 homes a year, that is not us.
- We are not flexible. We provide 2 weeks from the time you sign an agreement to work with our team to finalize options. If you want to change things after we have already ordered materials and scheduled our team, we are not the right builder. By getting all selections agreed upon upfront, we can be ontime!

I founded and run Great Lake Construction to build beautiful homes in Traverse City because I saw a lack of professionalism in the industry and I want to make it better. If you love one of our plans, our included features and process we provide, we would love to meet with you. If you don't then we might not be a fit.
Building a home is a relationship that will last for 6 months to build and 12 more months through our warranty. This means we'll be working together for a year and a half. Just as much as you want a builder with strong values you enjoy working with, we want buyers that we enjoy working with. It has to be a great fit. In Traverse City it's not hard to SELL a home. It is a bigger challenge to BUILD a home and BUILD a great relationship with a homeowner. We want to build a great home AND a great relationship.
